B&B Consultants, Inc is seeking a Civil Engineer with experience in site development and planning, design of stormwater management facilities, storm sewer, and other site associated utilities, and small and secondary road design. Candidates must have the ability to manage projects from start to finish, direct staff as necessary to complete projects, communicate with clients.

 

Responsibilities & Qualifications include:

• Minimum 4 year degree in civil engineering, or similar

• Minimum 2 years of experience required in engineering field preferred.

• Licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia is preferred (will consider license in another state if reciprocity to Virginia is available)

• Ability to direct survey, geotechnical, environmental, engineering, and related design professionals in the preparation and coordination of full site design documents for all phases from pre-design, through schematic and design development to construction documents.

• Built effective client/vendor relationships through the timely preparation of proposals and quotations, ensuring proper scoping of services, budget controls, and quality of work

• Generated cost estimates and specific site work specifications.

• AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office suite, and basic computer experience required. Experience with Hydraflow, Micro station, and Microsoft Project Manager a plus.

• Ability to develop site plans for general site layout, hydrology studies, storm sewer, water, sewer, erosion and sediment control, BMP/SWM facilities, roadway infrastructure, earthwork, and local, state, and federal environmental permitting.

• Experience with new Virginia Stormwater Regulations.

• Experience with North Carolina DOT, DLQ, and DWQ a plus.

 

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.

• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• This position must also be able to perform industrial field work which may include hazardous locations, ladders, and stairs.

• Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Criminal background check will be performed.

• Total compensation for this position is composed of a negotiated salary and will be eligible to participate in a comprehensive benefits package and periodic performance-based bonuses.
